Saturday - 12th december

Team A: Farooq (c), Rehan ,  Sumit , Vishal ,  Bharghav , Yuvi, , Adnan, Vicky jr , bharghav friend
Team B: Vicky (c), Suraj , Afaque , Gaj, Reyaz , Fauzan , Afnan , Iqbal

Team A won the toss and decided to bat first . They posted a mamooth total of 145 runs. Team B too batted well but was unable to reach the target and lost by 15 odd runs

Bharghav friend and Vishal opened the batting attck . They played diligently and were scoring more than run a ball . Gaj gave the first breakthrough . In came Sumit but he was dismissed by Suraj cheaply. And then Yuvi entered the crease and the story changed from there. He batted till 10.2 overs and hit 65 odd runs . He hit each and every bowler out of the park with Reyaz giving 20+ runs in one of the overs. Finally Gaj took his wicket but the damage was already done.

Chasing the target , Vicky declared war from first over itself when he hit Farooq for 16 runs of his first over. Bharghav was the pick of the bowlers from Team A . He got the price wicket of Vicky and after that Iqbal and Fauzan destroyed the bowling attack with Fauzan scoring more than 50 runs aptly supported by Iqbal bhai . But the required rate was more than 10 which made it difficult for the batsman . All guns were blazing well until 10th over when Bharghav dismissed Iqbal and gave away only 6 runs in the 10th over followed by 8 runs of yuvi in 11th over. Now 20 runs were required for win and farooq bolwed the penultimate over and gave away only 5 runs.

Thus Team A won the match but faced a strong contest from Team B.

Man of Match : Yuvi for his scintillating Performance

December 05, 2015

Team A: Reyaz (c), Tausif, Afaque, Sumit , Vishal , Ameen, Suraj , Yuvi, one other,
Team B: Vicky (c), Sarosh, Rehan , Gaj, Iqbal , Afnan , Mehran , Suraj's friend

1st game
Team B batted first good spell by Afaque. But Vicky and Iqbal were dealing in sixes and fours they were 81 in 8 overs. But last few tight overs from Reyaz and Sumit ensured they were restricted to 99 in 12 overs . Vicky and Iqbal with a brilliant partnership. Apart from Sumit bowlers gave away lot of runs.
Team A started the chase slow but once Yuvi and Sumit came on crease it was nightmare for bowlers. Thanks to hefty blows from Yuvi and Sumit, Team A chased the score in 10.3 overs. Stand out batting by yuvi and well supported by Sumit
Rehan pick of the bowlers with no 6 conceded

2nd game
It was again Vicky and Iqbal show as they ran riot scoring 47 in 2.3 overs.
Vicky was drooped on boundary on duck and he went further on his way as he was given 3 lives
With Vicky and Iqbal dealing in 6s, Team B posted a mammoth 147 in 10 overs. Poor fielding and bowling by team A helped them all the more.
Yuvi worst bowling spell with 3 back to back sixes.
Team A chase started interestingly with Yuvi hitting 29 runs from Vicky 1st over
They were 40 in 10 balls when Yuvi decided to go for a widish ball and was caught by the keeper. Batting started to collapse and made 95. Team B winning comfortably
Batsmen 's day and a nightmare for bowlers apart from Rehan.
Cheers!!!

Team B : Tausif (Captain) , Sumit , Vikash , Bharghav , Adnan , Afnan , Suhail , Ameen

1st Match :

Brief Scores : Team B score 81 at the end of 11.2 overs which Team A chased quite easily in 11 overs.

Reyaz lost the toss and was put to field by opposition captain Tausif . Due to scarcity of bowling options , Reyaz opted to open the bowling attack with Vicky and Iqbal .  Vicky capitalized on the opportunity and delivered sheer performance . Afnan hit a boundary and was dismissed soon after . Vicky took 3 consecutive wickets in his 3 overs .

Sumit and Tausif built on a partnership and got the scoreboard tickling. Suraj broke the partnership by getting the wicket of Tausif in the first ball of his spell . Fauzan was choosen an option to bowl , but due to opposition due to his illega action he was suspended and Kenneth continued his over . Kenneth bowled with sheer pace and got his due share of wickets too. Ameen showed some resistance and tried to take the lead ahead but was trapped on Suraj's slower delivery and gifted a catch to long on. The final score stood at 81.

Chasing the target , Kenneth and Rehan opened the innings . Rehan was caught behind off a absolute stunner by Sumit off Bharghav's bowling. Vicky and Kenneth took the innings forward scoring way ahead above the Run rate. Suhail obtained the wicket of Iqbal in his first delivery but was smacked for 20 runs in his next over by Vicky.  Tausif did the blunder of not introducing Vikash until 6 overs. The score rose above 40 in 6 overs. Once Vikash came to bowl , he didnt had much to restrict. and Vicky had already dictated his terms and put Team A in a commanding position and Team A won by 3 wickets comfortably.

Man of the Match : Vicky for his 3 wicket haul and Scoring the major chunk of the runs .

2nd Match :  Team B scored 85 at the end of 10.3 overs which Team A chased quite easily in 10 overs.

Suhail and Sumit opened the innings .Afaque and Kenneth opened the bowling attach with Kenneth picking 2 wickets of his first 2 overs . Sumit however was standing on the other end and was delivering . Vicky and Suraj went for 11 runs each in their first overs , Vikash stepped in and increased the run rate . Team B were 85/4 in 10 overs. However being in such a good position with 2 overs to go and 100+  seemed like an easy target . But Afaque had other plans , when he struck the timber thrice resulting in a Hattrick of Vikash , Adnan and Bharghav.

Chasing the target Suraj and Vicky opened the innings. They contributed to a partnership of 28 runs .Vikash was costlier this time where Vicky belted him for 2 sixes . However he was caught in long on off Vikash's bowling . Iqbal and Suraj took the innings forward. Suraj got caught at leg after hitting a four off Suhails bowling. In came Kenneth and he along with Iqbal changed the course of the match making it a easy chase . Finally team A won with 2 wickets to spare after Rehan hit the winning boundary.

October 17 , 2015

The most awaited day of the week, can you guess it’s neither Friday night nor Sunday morning. For Rockerzzz it’s Saturday morning when everyone gets back to 90’s and shows cricketing talent ;)

It was a different ground “Arobindo Ground” they say …. Rockerzzz have found their second home ground J

Highlights of the first match

Team A – Riyaz, Vikash, Sumit, Vishal, Gaj, Buland, Afnan’s friend, Bhargav, Sarosh
Team B – Vicky, Yuvi, Ameen, Afnan, Maaz, Rehan, Afaque, Afanan’s Friend

Ø  As usual Reyaz won the toss and opted to bat first.
Ø  It was a normal day for them as they score nearly 80+ in 12 overs innings.
Ø  Vicky bowled well along with Yuvi.
Ø  Competitive target for the Team B.

Ø  Team started chasing but Team B’s bowlers turned things in their favor.
Ø  Sarosh, Bhargav & Vikash bowled really well and kept the opponent in quiet.
Ø  But that was misconception as it was the silence before the storm.
Ø  Vicky got out and Team A thought they have controlled the match but one over from Vikash turned the match.
Ø  Afnan hit back to back two sixes and brought life to the game.

It’s so perfectly said, it seem that they have written it for Afanan’s innings on that day :

Though no-one can go back
and make a brand new start,
anyone can start from now
and make a brand new end.

Team B won the match and the MOM was Afnan for his superb innings.

Highlights of the second match

We keep writing highlights of the match but if you have witness the match you could surely say that Vishal made the Team A’s innings look like highlights.
Ø  Team A scores 130+
Ø  Buland and Vishal opened the innings but Buland could not sustain longer.
Ø  Vishal and Vishal build up a good partnership and started scoring with 10 run rate.
Ø  There was a quick contribution from Sumit as well.
Ø  At the end of 12 overs they scored 130+

Ø  Team B started with a flash, Vicky and Yuvi opened the innings.
Ø  If you have to fight then fight it like Yuvi J
Ø  He scored 20+ from the first over of Bhargav and put the team in a strong position.
Ø  It was unfortunate for Yuvi who got out on the next over while trying to hit a Six of Vikash’s over.
Ø  Again the responsibility went back to Vicky and Afnan.
Ø  They started to build the partnership.
Ø  Suddenly Sarosh was in action taking two major wickets.
Ø  He bowled Afnan and Vicky was caught on the boundary line by Vikash (Tough a tough catch but not the highlight of the match)
Ø  Highlight of the match was Sumit’s over.
Ø  An occasional bowler took the responsibility and challenge, showed the talent by taking 3 wickets.
Ø  Finally Team A won the match comfortably.

MOM – Jointly Vishal (80 runs) + Sumit (3 wickets)
There can’t be anything better than 1-1 on a Saturday for ROCKERZZZ.

Great match and wonderful performances.

Team Vicky : Vicky ,Iqbal ,  Shahmir , Sarosh , Rehan , Afaque , Bharghav , Afnan's Friend

Team Suraj : Suraj , Sumit , Vishal , Yuvi , Gaj , Mehran , Afnan

1st Match : Suraj won the toss and decided to bat . Vishal and Afnan opened the innings . Vishal got out when the score was 13 . Sumit and Afnan then held the innings and took the score ahead . Afnan was in devastating form and he attacked each and every bowler . Sumit too chipped with his boundaries and played the role of the supporting batsman . The duo made a partnership of more than 50 runs when finally sumit was caught in the deep . However Afnan chipped in till the last ball and along with contributions from yuvi and gaj took the final score to 105/5 at the end of 12 overs.

Vicky and Shahmir opened the innings and began the chase .Vicky kept the asking rate below par and hit Yuvi for 12 runs in his first over but Mehran on the other end bowled a beautiful economical spell of 3 overs . Gaj got the first breakthrough of the match taking 2 wickets of Iqbal and Shahmir in his first over . But Vicky was scoring runs on the other end. His journey came to an end when he was dismissed by Suraj in the 8th over . And after that it was all left to GAJ who cleaned up the remaining team finishing at 5 wickets . One special mention for Afnan's fielding wherein he covered the entire leg side alone and restricted the batsman to singles and was finally involved in the run out of the last wicket. Vicky's team were dismissed for 52 runs in 9 overs.

Man of the Match : Gaj for his superb bowling performance of 5 wickets .

***** VICKY AND AFNAN'S FRIEND LEFT FOR THE DAY AND VISHAL WAS MOVED TO THE OTHER TEAM WHICH WAS NOW CAPTAINED BY REHAN *******

Team Rehan : Vishal , Iqbal ,  Shahmir , Sarosh , Rehan , Afaque , Bharghav

Team Suraj : Suraj , Sumit ,  Yuvi , Gaj , Mehran , Afnan

2nd Match : Yuvi and Mehran opened the batting . None of the batsman could reach double figures . Bharghav and Afaque the Bagha destroyed the batting line up . Bharghav picked up 3 wickets and Afaque bhai picked up 2 wickets . Yuvi fell cheaply and Afnan followed soon after . Sumit and Mehran tried to hold the innings but they were going slowly at 4 RPO and were dismissed cheaply too . Suraj was the last single man batting and he too fell prey to a stunning catch by Shahmir bhai , bowled by Iqbal bhai. The whole team was dismissed for a meagre total of 35 runs.

But team Suraj didnt say the word "DIE" and fought back like spartans . Yuvi and Gaj opened the bowling and Iqbal and Afaque opened the batting . They were 13/0 at the end of 2 overs . But yuvi bowled an excellent spell hittng the timber for both  IQBAL and Vishal in the same over . Next over Gaj hit the timber for both Rehan and Bharghav . The score was now 23/4 and there were 2 wickets left . Yuvi bowled an economical 5th over and Gaj returned back for the 6th over where the match was in a 50-50 position . Mehran and Afnan both missed simple catches in the boundary leaving GAJ stranded in the bowlers end . Afaque finally hit the winning shot and made the team cross the Victory line.

KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) v RoI (Rest of India)

RoI vs KKR

Team KKR: Tanzeel (c), Reyaz, Vikash, Mehran, Affaque, Shahmir, Vicky, Rehan, Tausif, Bhargav & Suraj

Team RoI: Buland(c), Maaz, Ameen, Afan, Yuvi, Faisal, Gaj, Afzal, Iqbal, Sumit, Vishal, Buland, Kunal & Farooq

1st match: RoI won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 100 runs in their quota of 15 overs. KKR lost the match by 22 runs

Highlights from the match:
 - Almost all of the Rockerzzz player turned up for the big day. It was KKR vs RoI and also the last day of cricket for Tanzeel in Bangalore
 - Buland won the toss for his team and elected to bat. Wickets fell at regular interval but a long batting line up helped by Vishal's major contribution and Afzal, Buland and Yuvi's hard hitting at the end, Team RoI set up a not so huge score of 100 runs in 15 overs
 - Vikash and Mehran did bowl some economical overs to curb the scoring rate of RoI
 - For team KKR, the top order flopped. Vicky and Shahmir were not able to provide the much needed start. Tausif and Tanzeel couldn't halt the middle order collapse as well
 - Farooq along with Maaz and Gaj were too good for KKR batsman. Farooq took out Vicky and others
 - A smart work by Iqbal to run out Tanzeel demoralized the batting unit of KKR
 - Reyaz tried to provide some resistance. He held up one end and needed some support from other. Asking rate was always up and hence he too perished under the pressure of high RRR

2nd match: KKR was given 79 to chase in 12 overs, which they managed to achieve in thrilling last ball finish

Highlights from the match:
 - KKR was determined this time. The started of very well taking out 5-6 wickets before RoI could even score 30 runs. But a huge partnership between Yuvi and Vishal ensured they have enough runs to defend. they plundered 15 runs from Tanzeel's over to take back the momentum and posted a total of 78 runs which in no way was a meager one
 - Vikash was once again brilliant with his turns ably supported by Afaque, they destroyed the top order of RoI. Afaque was in the guise of Bagha, giving not many runs but taking many wickets in his 3 continuous overs
 - Team KKR started off well with the bat. After the 6 and out from Vicky, Suraj and Tanzeel scored briskly. they were sitting pretty at 35 runs in 5 overs
 - As Tanzeel departed after going for another six, RoI team converged to shake hands with the opposition's captain, a decent player. Later did they realized that it will be a perfect farewell for him
 - The middle order collapse triggered by Yuvi's and Maaz's spell ensured the victory for KKR wouldn't be easy
 - A split overs hattrick by Maaz and super economical spell by Yuvi halted the scoring rate of KKR. Wickets fell at regular interval
 - Reyaz, found himself at the similar position, but first Rehan and then Shahmir provided him enough support so that the RRR is under control
 - Reyaz and Rehan departed and it was left to Shahmir and Mehran to take their take beyond the crossing lines of victory
 - KKR needed 10 off 2 overs and RoI needed 2 wickets
 - Yuvi bowled the superb second last over and gave only 3 runs
 - Gaj came on to bowl the last over, with KKR needed 7 runs
 - 6 balls 7 runs
 - 5 balls 6 runs
 - 4 balls 4 runs
 - 3 balls 2 runs
 - 2 balls 1 run Shahmir couldn't connect after Gaj bowled a fierce fast ball at the 6th stump line
 - 1 ball 1 run.
 - Last ball Shahmir edged the ball and off it goes behind the keeper for 1D, victory for KKR was ensured. A perfect farewell for their captain Tanzeel

Shahmir Scores the winning run on the last ball

September 05, 2015

Team A: Reyaz (c), Sumit, Gaj, Rehan, Mehran, Buland, Bhargav, Ameen & Vicky
Team B: Tanzeel (c), Vishal, Yuvi, Faisal, Farooq, Suraj, Afaque & Kunal & Shahmir

1st match: Team A chose to bat first and scored 72 runs in 12 overs, which Team B chased down in the 11th over

Highlights from the match:
 - It rained overnight. the pitch was damp and the ground had pools of water here and there
 - Team B started off well with the ball. Their bowlers did well to curb the scoring rate. Suraj and Kunal had lot of wickets in the 4 overs they bowled
 - Low in form batsman, pitch behaving erratic with uneven bounce led to quick wickets for Team A. They were 45 in 10 overs with only last pair Buland and Gaj on the crease. Buland did well for his team to take the score to a respectable total
 - For team B it started off well, with Shahmir and Vishal scoring brisk runs at the start. Quick wickets in the middle meant someone had to hold the ground. Tanzeel did that job and Yuvi came in the end to finish off the chase in style

2nd match: Team A managed only 59 in their limited 12 overs. The match went till the last ball, only to see Team B come out victorious in the controversy  surrounded match

Highlights from the match:
 - This time around bowlers from both the teams were deadlier than the first game. For team B, no one gave an inch for the batsman to score freely. It was just 2 sixes from Tanzeel's over by Buland that could be talked about by team A's batsman
  - Afaque led from front, bowling 3 brilliant overs for his team, economical and plethora of wickets to his name

  - Low targets are always tricky to chase. Reyaz had this in mind and so did his bowlers. They started of well. They didn't take lot of wickets at the start but kept the scoring rate at check. Just 4 - 5 runs in an over would never be a concern for them. And that's what they did. Rehan, Gaj, Bhargav, Mehran all did their job beautifully
 - Team B required just 18 runs in the last 18 balls. It was still easy as Yuvi, Vishal, Tanzeel, and other lower order batsman were yet to come. Faisal and Kunal were batting, Shahmir and Afaque were back in the pavillion
 - Kunal got out and Team B required 9 off 2 overs. After Gaj's brilliant over, they required 5 off 6 balls
 - Rehan came to bowl, and bowled brilliant first 4 balls. Those were best balls in the final over seen in Rockerzzz's recent times. 4 straight balls went though the bat and pad of Faisal and he missed all of them
 - Team B had no other choice but to replace him with Yuvi. He came and took a single of the first ball he faced. 4 to go in the last ball. Vishal just had to hit it out of the park
 - The situation was highly intense, all eyes into the field. Batsman and bowler, they were not the only ones under pressure. Rehan had bowled 5 good balls and he had to bowl one more in similar fashion. Vishal who was in great form in the last couple of days, had to hit it away from fielders outside the boundary. the fielders were alert, batting team in the pavilion were tensed, umpire and also the captain of batting team, Tanzeel with squinted eyes was looking at Vishal, praying he hit this ball far away
  - Rehan bowled a bouncer, it went above Vishal's head, he tried to connect it but couldn't. Tanzeel had no other choice but to give it a wide for height, a tad controversial decision but he had to take his chances anyway. Team A's happiness suddenly turned into disappointment. They tried to convince the umpire that Vishal took few steps from the crease and so it shouldn't be a no ball. Rockerzzz rule that umpire decision is final decision had to stay. All players who were back to pavillion had to return to their fielding position after Reyaz halfheartedly convinced them to return
 - There was still 3 runs to score from the last ball. Dissapointed Rehan had to bowl one more good ball for his team but had a brain freeze and bowled an over pitch ball. That was what Vishal needed at that point of time and he scored a huge six
 - A brilliant game nevertheless, a hard fought game, a game which I think would inspire and shower beliefs in the mind of every player in Rockerzzz, that yes we are competitive and wouldn't let an inch go away, will fight hard till the end but within the spirit of game
 - Even though the day ended with a controversial decision, there was never an enmity or hatred against anyone. We never forget what happens in the ground and today was no difference. We converged after the game to pull each others leg by bringing up points from the game over our favorite fruit juices

August 29, 2015

Team A: Tanzeel (c), Tausif, Vicky, Gaj, Ameen, Mehran, Suraj, Farooq, Kaushik & Shahmir
Team B: Reyaz (c), Sumit, Vishal, Yuvi, Rehan, Vikas, Bhargav, Afaque, Kunal & Faisal

1st match: Team A won the toss and chose to bat. They scored 61 in their allotted 12 overs. Team B won the match in the 10th over

Highlights of the match:
 - A not so regular opening pair (Shahmir and Farooq and no Vicky) meant it would be a tough day for Team A. It started with the first over itself when Farooq fell to beautiful bowling by Afaque. Team A could hardly recover from there
 - Other batsman fell like nine pins. It was only because of slight resistant showed by Gaj that the team could cross the score of 50
 - Team B's bowler were quite economical as the scoreline shows, Vikas the one with handful of wickets to his name showed a commendable performance
 - Team A's bowler though they had a chance after they pick up few wickets at the start of the innings. Farooq and Mehran showed an inspiring performance
 - Reyaz played a captain's innings, providing a much needing anchor when wickets fell at the beginning. Rehan provided him the support he needed
 - With wickets still in hand and only 19 runs required in the last 4 overs, Reyaz took his chance and almost scored the winning runs in the single over that Maaz bowled (over 9th)

2nd match: Team A did the same mistake again. They scored 72 runs this time only to see themselves losing the match in the 8th over. Same script repeated again

Highlights of the match:
 - Same script repeated again. Team A's top order fell like 9 pins
 - Gaj and Shahmir scored few valuable runs, giving their team at least something to defend
 - Team B's bowler were remarkable, economical to say the least. Vikas was once again to his best, scoring a maiden, wickets in each of his 3 overs, etc.
 - There was no fight from Team A's bowler this time. Vishal ensured his team was ahead from the word go. Having missed batting in the first game, he came out guns blazing hitting Mehran, Vicky and Maaz all around the park

Team A: Tanzeel (c), Tausif, Rehan, Affaque, Mehran, Kunal, Arunesh, Buland, Sumit, Imtiaz
Team B: Reyaz (c), Vicky, Gaj, Bhargav, Vishal, Shahmir, Farooq, Maaz, Ameen

1st match: Team A was given a target of 83 runs in 12 overs but they could only manage 61 in 10 overs when they ran out of batsman

Highlights from the match:
 - Vishal and Vicky posted a good total in a pitch that was too damp by the over night rain
 -  Team A started slowly but steadily with Tanzeel and Sumit scoring 25 runs in 5 overs but after they fell it was downhill for them
 - Maaz and Farooq were exceptional with the ball

2nd match: Team B set the target of 91 runs in 12 overs. The story wasn't different this time as team A fell short by a huge margin of 30 runs

Highlights from the match:
 - Vicky was in destructive mood as he plundered 60 runs in just 5 overs for his team, Affaque and Imtiaz were at the receiving end
 - But Mehran, Yuvi and  Buland did well to stop the flow of runs. Team B managed just 30 runs in 7 overs once Vicky got out
 - It wasn't Team A's day. All batsman fell to not so exceptional bowling. It seemed they had no clue to chase that target
 - Only Tausif showed some resilience scoring few sixes but other than that none showed enough courage
 - Maaz, once again along with Gaj were wrecker in chief
  - Vicky towards the fag end of the inning came and took 4 wickets in his over to complete the big victory for his team

After Shaimir departed , Vishal started building on his good start and scored the chunk of runs. He was well supported by Reyaz and Yuvi .The final score stood at 94 after the end of 12 overs.

The pick of the bowlers from the opposition were Tanzeel and Bharghav . Tanzeel took 2 back to back wickets to put a halt to the scoring rate. Bharghav bowled an excellent maiden wicket 10th over.

Chasing the target , Rehan and Vicky opened the innings . Rehan was cleaned up by Mehran in his very first over . Amit too followed soon after . Tanzeel and Vicky tried to build up a partnership but a mishit of Vikash's over and he was caught in the off by Suraj. Ameen and Sumit too didnt offer much resistance and fall cheaply. Vicky was left stranded on the other end when wickets on the other end kept on falling. A reverse sweep shot of Vikash's over and he found himself dismissed again by Suraj at mid-off. Suraj picked up 2 wickets and Shankar picked up a wicket and they combined cleaned the tail ender and Team B couldn't reach the target in the allotted quota of 12 overs.

Man of the match : Joint winners ... Vishal and Vikash(3 wickets) ....
Catch of the match : Suraj ... (Tanzeel ... caught Suraj b. Vikash)

Buland and Vikash opened the innings . Buland fall when the scoreboard ticked 15. Amit too fall soon after .Vikash and Yuvi hold the innings and made the chunk of the runs together. Vikash ripped the bowling attack hitting three 6's and one 4 and he got dismissed after that. What followed was a cracker and a record for ROCKERZZZ SEASON . Yuvi didnt rip the bowling attack instead he demolished the attack . Yuvi scored 50 in 11 balls which consisted of seven 6's and 1 boundary. Afaque and Vicky were at the recieving end . Team A reached 85 in 7 overs. Once Yuvi got out , Team B saw quick downfall of Reyaz and Suraj. However Mehran had other plans as he hit two balls out of the park and along with some late contribution from Vishal and Shaimir , the score reached 124 at the end of 12 overs.

Tanzeel again picked up 2 wickets being the only economical in the whole lot.

Chasing the target , Team A was in a different mood this time . Although Tanzeel fell cheaply due to a superb diving catch from Mehran , Vicky demolished the bowling attack taking the score to 55 at the end of 4 overs. Vikash and (Vishal's friend ) were at the recieving end. However Vicky got caught in deep trying to hit the 3rd 6 of (Vishal's friend ) over. The next 4 overs saw the duo of Suraj and Buland bowling with utter discipline and only 18 runs came of the next 4 overs. However Gaj and Amit had other plans as they hit 20+ runs of Mehran's over bringing the equation to 31 REQUIRED OF 3 OVERS. Yuvi came back into the attack and bowled superbly taking the wicket of GAJ caught of Suraj in mid-on , but was hit for a 6 by Amit and the equation jolted down to 24 required off 2 overs. Suraj bowled the 11th over ... and Bharghav hit him for a 6 and another misfield in the off costed another 4 , however Bharghav was cleaned up by Suraj . The equation jolted down to 13 off 1 over AND 1 wicket remaining. Buland decided to bowl and Rehan was caught off the first ball at long on by Vishal.
Team B won the thrilling contest by 11 runs .

Highlights from the match:
 - Pitch was damp and Team B's bowlers were good. They bowled well and contained the batsman to their limits. The result shown as only 53 runs could be scored
 - Team A started very cautiously. Sumit and Vishal scored briskly but once they got out with 30 runs on the board in the 6th over, wickets fell at regular interval. Vishal top scored for his team but could only manage 53 at the end

Team A( Reyaz ): Sumit , gaj , buland , afaque , Vicky jr , karthik , Vikas

Team B (Vicky) : Suraj , Yuvi , faisal , maaz , pradyut , bipin

1st Match : Vicky lost the toss and was put to field by the opposition.. Maaz was the pick of the bowlers when he picked up 3 wickets in his 3 overs. Yuvi and Suraj bowled with decent lines giving the batsman no scope of scoring.  Reyaz the strong backbone of team A  couldn’t take the responsibility and got out early .. Vikas stepped in and made an impactful partnership with Sumit and scored the bulk of the runs. Their partnership also resulted in 25 runs alone from the over of Vicky which took the run rate above the asking rate. Sumit was dismissed soon after and Vikas’s lifeline also ended when he was caught and bowled by Suraj. However the opposition made 98 runs in their quota of 12 overs.
Bipin and Vicky opened the innings for team B. Both the batsman played as per plan . Bipin struck some beautiful boundaries and Vicky as usual made no stones left unturned in scoring the bulk of the runs. Vicky took on Buland and Afaque hitting them out of the park . Vikas was the only bowler who made it difficult for the batsman to score against him and gave only 14 runs in his quota of 3 overs. Once Bipin got out , it was left to Faisal and Vicky who achieved the target without loosing any further wickets and devastating the bowling line up .Man of the match jointly won by Vicky and Maaz for their individual Performance.
2nd Match : Team A began their approach cautiously with buland opening the batting . Team B too began their attack cautiously . Buland was taken in deep by Yuvi on Suraj’s bowling as he tried to accelerate the run rate. In came Sumit and along with Reyaz they built a partnership of around 100 runs . The last over of each bowler sparing yuvi went for many runs . Maaz and Suraj over went for 18 odd runs and Pradyut gave away 20 odd runs . Yuvi was the only bowler who maintained his economy rate and gave away only 14 runs in his quota of 3 overs. Team A fininshed on 132 runs .
Vicky and Bipin opened the innings. They maintained the run rate of 10 RPO . Bipin retired after 6 overs and along with faisal the hunt for the target was on . Team B reached 50+ runs in 5.3 overs . But it soon saw the dismissal of the Star Player Vicky when he was dismissed of Vikas’s bowling. Maaz went in and hit a quickfire 20 runs and got caught in the off . In came Suraj and he along with Faisal scored 20 odd runs of Sumit’s over. However Suraj perished off Gaj’s bowling and Yuvi too followed back with a duck. However Team A never lost hope and they kept approaching the target maintaining their run rate. The 10th over of the match saw 15+ runs coming off Vikas’s over when Bipin took on him hitting a 6 and a 4 out of the park , Now 30 runs were required off the last 2 overs. Afaque bagha Vettori bowled the 11th over and nailed it for Team A where he gave away only 6 runs. The final over required 24 runs and Team B has lost the plot when Buland got the wicket of Bipin in his first ball . Team A won the contest handsomely with 20 odd runs.Man of the match jointly won by Reyaz and Sumit for their awesome partnership
Buland: It was the last game of the other Rocking  sucessfull season. Boys played really awesome cricket with great intensity and sprit. Feels really good with Rockerzzz. Team A: Tanzeel (c), Faisal, Buland, Vikash, Afaque, Yuvi, Manohar, Devan & Bharghav

Team B: Vicky sr (c), Vicky jr, Suraj, Iqbal, Maaz, Mehran, Kaushik, Gaj & Govardhan

1st match: Team B won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 77 in 12 overs which Team A chased down quite comfortably

Highlights from the match:

- Afaque, Yuvi bowled with controlled line and length. Even though Vicky was there till 10th over, team B could only manage 59 in 9 overs. Such was the impact of bowling unit of Team A
- it was only in 10th over that Vicky scored 15 runs of Bharghav that Team B some respectable total to defend
- Brisk opening partnership was provided by Tanzeel and Manohar
- Manahor and Faisal steadied the chase and after the fall 3 wickets Vikash and Faisal finished off 78 runs in just 8.1 overs

2nd match: Team B set a better target this time. For Team A, 97 runs in 12 would be any day difficult but they did well to chase it down with 1 ball to spare

Highlights from the match

- Vicky got out cheaply and so did few other batsman at the start. All hopes of his were now with Iqbal and he didn't put them down
- Iqbal along with Maaz ensured that they put up more than a decent total this time
- Team A's bowler did well overall just that 2 overs of Tanzeel and Afaque went for 30 odd runs and that changed the color of the game after Team B was down till 9th over with only 54 runs on the board
- With runs on the board, it was all left to Team B's bowler to bowl well. Maaz provided an excellent start with only 4 runs in his first over
- But that was the only striking point from the first 5 overs to mention from Team B's perspective. In the next 4 overs Tanzeel plundered 46 runs with the help of Manohar and Faisal, taking 18 runs off Mehran's 6 legitimate balls
- The game meandered once again. Suraj took 2 wickets of Faisal and Tanzeel and gave just 2 runs in the 6th over of the inning
- In the coming 2-3 overs wickets kept on falling with only Vikash left. Yuvi and Buland was still to come. They needed 30 runs of the last 3 overs. Buland and Vikash showed determination to chase down a stiff target
- Maaz and Gaj couldn't contain the batsman when the requirement was 22 off 12 balls (each gave 11 runs). In the end the thrilling match came to an end with Vikash and Buland scoring a six each and winning the match with a ball to spare

Team Batsman: Vicky(c), Shahmir, Reyaz, Buland, Ameen, Sumit, Vikash & Faisal

Team Bowlers; Tanzeel(c), Afaque, Afsal, Maaz, Yuvi, Gaj, Suraj & Rehan (jr)

Bowlers vs batsman...who played well...who won? That was decided today....and guess what....batsman prevailed on the both the ocassion. Off day for bowlers...who couldnt defend their scores

1st match: Bowlers willing to bat first scored 84 in 12 overs. Batsman easily chased it down in the 10th over

Highlights of the match

- Tanzeel and Gaj started offf cautiously, Tanzeel scoring bulk of the runs in their partnership of 23 in 3 overs
- A few quick wickets and meaty blows from Yuvi and Afsal took the score to 63 in 7 overs
- But then batsman too had bowlers in Vikash, Buland and Vicky. They applied brakes and strangled bowlers and their innings folded to only 84 in 12 overs
- Vicky provided a powerful start to batsman's inning. He picked up 19 runs in Maaz's first over
- Wicket of Reyaz Vicky Ameen and few others fell and 40 runs still remaining, the bowling team thought they had a chance. Little did they knew that Faisal and Sumit will finish it off. Faisal hitting clean sixes showed his class after he was off color for couple of months in the past

2nd match: 10 overs match. Start for bolwers were not good. But they still managed 75 which batsman team chased down in 9th over.

Highlights

- Yuvi and suraj did belt few out of the park in their respective knocks
- Vikash was difficult to score. Vicky and Buland supported him well. Bowlers didn't score much to defend against a strong line up of batsman
- The team will find it difficult if it's star bowler like afsal find difficulty in getting his rythm. Few extras and occasional boundaries in his over depleted the moral of the bowling team
- Faisal picked up from where left in the first game. Vikash was in sublime touch while scoring against Afsal and Afaque
- Yuvi tried to pull things back after taking couple of wickets but it was quite late
- Vicky came in the end finished it off in style to make it 2-0 and a memorable day for the team full of batsman

May 23, 2015

It was just past noon. The day was Monday, still 5 days to go for Saturday-the day we all wait eagerly to arrive. My whatsapp was full of notifications and more than 95% of it were from Rockerzzz group. And why not that Saturday was supposed to entertain the most anticipated match of the season. The build up to that match had to be electric. So, it was!
Watch YouTube intro here
People were practising. They were criticizing. Lot of banters, lot of mauka dubsmash were created. All in all the oppositions were wishing luck to the other team, silently hoping their form goes away on the D-day. Never before in the recent past a turnout of this figure (23 in total) was witnessed.

RoI at left and KKR at right

KKR team pic before the match

1st match: KKR won the toss and opted to bat first. They managed 79 in 12 overs. RoI chased it down in the thrilling last over

Highlights from the game

 - RoI bowlers targeted Vicky from the start. And they got their man cheaply within 3 overs.
 - Maaz and Gaj were the pick among their bowlers who stick to basics and kept taking wickets at regular intervals, never giving enough room to let KKR score freely
 - Tanzeel and Vikash tried to rebuild the innings but they were slow and KKR scoring rate never took off
 - Vikash gave a stupendous start to KKR. He took 2 wickets in his first over with his slow left arm leg spin
 - KKR too were among wickets with Suraj chipping in along with Vikash. The target of 80 seemed far but RoI had a good battting line up to chase down even though wickets were falling
 - One bad over from mehran which went for 18 runs scored by Sumit brought back the much needed momentum for RoI
 - RoI required 28 runs in the last 4 overs. With Afsal still in the crease the runs were still achievable. But 2 good overs from Vikash (1 run) and Suraj (5 runs) brought the down the equation to 22 off 12 balls
 - Farooq the man to go to during death overs was assigned the task. But Afsal had other thoughts. 2 huge sixes in that over titled the balance in RoI's favor
 - 8 runs in the last over couldn't be defended when Afsal is in marauding mood. A six off Rehan's 3rd ball sealed the match

2nd match: KKR gave RoI a target of 98 to chase this time. RoI couldn't replicate their efforts this time and fell by 43 runs scoring only 55 in 12 overs

Highlights from the match
 - Vicky and Tausif were superb from the start.Their innings started in 4th gear, scoring more than half of their team runs (24 and 30 respectively)
 - Tausif charged Buland in one of his overs and picked up 24 runs. Mehran was the happiest as he was thinking "okay someone got hit more than me"
 - RoI tried to pull things back by taking quick wickets. Gaj again along with Maaz and Yuvi were the ones who tried and kept KKR not cross 100 runs
 - Choke is the word best describing KKR bowlers doing to RoI batsman. Vikash, Suraj and Mehran in their inital overs gave away only 22 runs in 7 overs
 - Even for Afsal it was going to be tough to cover up the remaining 76 runs in 5 overs.
 - A little over 19 runs (3 consecutive sixes from Afsal) off Rehan's over gave some hope to RoI and a little scare to KKR. But scoring more than 55 runs in the last 3 over was going to be tough even for ABD, Gayle and Yuvraj
 - KKR had Piyush Chawla (suraj) and Narine (Vikash) along with Pollock (Farooq). 2 good overs from former two brought the equation to 44 off the last over
 - Tanzeel finally getting a chance to bowl gave just 1 run and took 2 wickets to complete a resounding victory by KKR

May 17, 2015

1st match: Team A (Reyaz captain) won the toss and elected to bat. Team B had the worst possible start and gave away 80 runs all out in 9 overs. Team B couldn't chase that and could only manage 46 runs in their allotted 12 overs

Highlights
 - Vicky and Ameen scored 33 runs in the first overs. Afaque and Rehan gave away too many. They couldn't capitalize on the wet and overcast conditions. Full tosses, overpitches in addition to bad fielding help Team A get away bulk of the runs in the initial 2 overs
 - However Team B did get together after a horrific start and made a wonderful comeback with the ball. Suraj and Rehan were the chief architect of the collapse of Team A batting lineup
 - Once Vicky (sr) got out, it was a matter of time. Rehan took a hattrick and Suraj gave him a good partnership
 - Good performance with the ball was not backed up by Team B's batting. Team A was too good with the ball. They utilized the wet conditions excellently. Not giving them the runs, they were successful in choking Team B
 - Maaz bowled an economical spell. For Team B 81 seemed too distant away even though not many wickets fell

Rehan after his hat-trick

2nd match: Team B had to chase 99 and yet again they fell behind by 23 runs

Highlights
 - Vicky as usual gave his team a flying start. Team A was guided well by Iqbal in the middle and Reyaz towards the end. That gave them a healthy total of 98 runs
 - As one can imagine Team B would have find it tough this time around. But after the fall of Tausif and Vicky (jr) in the initial overs, Tanzeel and Afaque did well to keep the required run rate achievable.
 - Unfortunate run out of Tanzeel and quick wickets of Afaque and Vishal gave them the set back
 - Suraj did gave them a hope after a few lofty blows off Vicky (sr) and Gaj's bowling but the ask of 26 runs from 3 overs and last wicket hand was too tough an ask. The new man (Vivek) couldn't hold on and got out leaving Suraj stranded at the other end
 - Gaj and Maaz the strike bowlers from the Team A was too happy with their performance

Chasing the target. Afnan and Rehan opened the innings . Afnan rotated the strike and kept the scoreboard ticking . However the team saw a quick collapse of 3 successive wickets of Iqbal, Rehan . Tausif stabilized the innings and once Afnan retired, it was 35 runs required of 5 overs. Suraj and Tausif made sure that there was no further collapse and achieved the score within 10.2 overs without any further loss of wickets.

2nd Match: This match was a complete different affair from the first match. It was a 10 overs match. Vicky jr and Reyaz opened the innings. Vicky jr started hitting all the bowlers out of the park. Suraj dismissed Reyaz and Sumit to bring a halt to the scoring but Vishal had other plans. He demolished the bowling in the penultimate overs hitting Rehan for 20+ runs in the final over taking the score to a mamooth total of 131.

Tausif and Ameen opened the innings . But the team saw a quick collapse of 3 wickets of Tausif , Ameen and Suraj for 9 runs. The score stood at 9/3 at the end of 3 overs. But Afnan and Iqbal didnt give up and started hiiting the bowlers out of the park and without loosing any further wickets, they took the score to 110 runs but finally felt short by 21 runs.

Team A: Tanzeel (c), Faisal, Rehan, Ameen, Afaque, Sumit, Fauzan & Sumit
Team B: Suraj(c), Vicky, Mehran, Vishal, Maaz, Iqbal, Adnan & Afnan

1st match: Team A batted first and scored only 76 runs in 12 overs. For Team B it was a piece of calk. They chased it in the 8th over

Highlights:

 - Team A's batting didn't click. Suraj, Mehran and Maaz were the pick among the bowlers
 - Vicky and Vishal gave a very good start to Team B innings. It was simply one way traffic since then for them

2nd match: Team A batsman performed worse than the previous match. They could only score 63 runs in their full quota of 12 overs. But their bowlers did really well, making a fight out of this low score. Team B won but not before the last over was bowled and only 1 wicket left

Highlights:

 - Once again Suraj, Mehran and Maaz did a fantastic job by restricting Team A to only 63 runs
 - Team A targeted Vicky as he could have taken the match away from them. Once he got out the bowlers targeted other batsmen and reaped rewards only to fail in the last pair
 - Afaque and Rehan bowled splendidly at the start of innings. Pradeep and Tanzeel then took wickets by not giving much runs
 - The last pair of Adnan and Afnan  needed to score 20 runs in 4 overs and they did bat patiently, scoring only in singles and doubles. Catches went up but landed between fielders. In the last 2 over they needed 8 runs. Tanzeel gave 5 runs with few beautiful wicket taking deliveries but the batsmen hung on
 - In the last over Pradeep started with 3 dots. Pressure was with both the team but Adnan struck a beautiful blow to put the ball out of the boundary and that was it Team B got 2 out of 2 victories today

 - But a little sensible batting between Tanzeel and Maaz helped them cross 100 runs
 - Sumit captaining for the first time did very well with the bat. Not going for big shots he ensured that he was there till the end. Reyaz gave him a good company
 - Team A did well to take wickets here and there but it was too late when Sumit and Reyaz got out. Yuvi then hit for few boundaries brought the equation down.
 - Suraj and Tanzeel was economical was. Vicky gave a chance to Tanzeel to squeeze in a wicket when the equation was 10 runs from the last 2 overs with 3 wickets left.

2nd match: Team A scored 96 runs in 12 overs which Team B fell short by 16 runs

Highlights:
 - Vicky blasted his way at the top of the order, took his team to 39 runs in 4 overs. Tausif helped him to lay the foundation. Then again there was a middle order collapse

 - Imtiaz, Yuvi did well but the last overs were too heavy from team B's perspective
 - Team A began well with the ball but Vishal and Tausif (new) were still scoring runs hastily. A wicket pegged them back
 - Gaj and Maaz did well with the bowl in the middle. Suraj and Affaque struck towards the end
 - 4 wickets in just 2 overs from Afaque ensured a sounding victory for Team A

- But to many aerial shots and good bowling by Mehran and Afaque brought the downfall of Team A

Team A: Farooq(c), Mehran, Iqbal, Yuvi, Naveen, Shashi, Adnan, Fauzan and Maaz
Team B: Suraj (c), Tanzeel, Vicky, Afnan, Pradeep, Naveen, Gaj and Afaque

1st match: Team A batted first and scored 82 runs in 12 overs. Team B failed to chase that and fell short by 17 runs

Highlights of the game:

- It was bowlers day. Team B did well to restrict Team A to only 82 runs. Tanzeel, Suraj and Afaque bowled economical spells
- The last wicket partnership of around 30 runs of Yuvi and Naveen was the deciding factor
- For team A the fiery spells of Farooq, Yuvi, Mehran and Adnan tied Team B. Even though they didn't lose much wicket they couldn't score in the middle overs and that led to too much to ask towards the end
- 50 off 5 overs was a difficult ask even for  Tanzeel, Gaj and Afaque

2nd match: This time team B was given 65 to chase in 12 overs which they chased successfully in the last over.

Highlights of the match:
- Gaj was the wrecker on chief. In his 3 overs he bowled 2 maiden and took 5 wickets
- in a day meant for bowlers Team A knew that they had a chance. Under able captain and resourceful bowlers at his disposal Farooq rotated well and struck when required the most
- Vicky gave Team B  a solid start. 23 runs in only 3 overs. Once he got out Team B went into the shell. Couple of brilliant overs by Yuvi and Maaz accompanied by Adnan and Fauzan gave them hope
- Team B needed 30 off 6 overs and then 13 off 3 overs... Gaj, Tanzeel and Afaque made sure they don't falter this time
- last over they needed 4 runs. Afaque the man hit Yuvi for long on six and that was it, he sealed the match for his team once again

March 28, 2015

Maaz didn't come so team was balanced. Reyaz and Tanzeel led the team. In the second match Team A was led by Suraj as Reyaz and Tausif had to leave for some personal obligation. Sumit had to shift teams to compensate for this.

1st match:  Team A won the toss and elected to bat first. They scored 96 runs, riding their luck with fruitful contribution from Tausif, Vishal and Yuvi. Afaque to hit some quick runs at the death over Team B fell short by 9 runs as Team A bowlers did well to hold on Team B's batsman. Yuvi and Rehan was the pick among the bowlers as Team B had still some chance with 26 runs in the last 2 overs.

2nd match: In the second match Team A scored 82 runs in 10 overs. Yuvi and Vishal was again among some runs. It could have been worse had it not been for Imtiaz at the beginning and Gaj and Tanzeel to put some brakes towards the end of the innings. After the first wicket fell quickly it was left for Vicky and Ameen to put up a big partnership. they brought the game to a close and Imtiaz finished it off in still in 8.2 overs for Team B.

Team A: Tanzeel(c), Tausif, Vicky, Iqbal, Imtiaz, Afaque, Maaz & Vishal
Team B: Buland(c), Sumit, Faisal, Mehran, Rehan, Gaj & Ameen
1st match: Team B scored 108 in 12 overs. Match was tied as Team A too scored 108
Highlights of the match
- Sumit and Rehan laid the foundation. Gaj towards the end of the inning showcased some hard hitting blow and took his team to above par score
- Vicky and Tausif started off very well. Vishal too gave them a good support
- But Team B bowlers pulled things back. Team A required 40 in 4 overs. Sumit bowled and got hit for 18 runs
- 3 overs and 22 runs. Gaj bowled a superb over and gave away only 5 runs
- 2 overs 17 runs. Again Mehran was fantastic at the death. Gave away only 4 runs and also the wicket of Tanzeel
- last over Team A needed 13 runs. Rehan was to bowl, Afaque and Imtiaz the last pair were on crease. A few single and double and a wide brought the equation down to 7 runs off 2 balls
- Afaque was on strike, second last ball and he misses a length ball
- Last ball a little over pitch and Afaque didn't miss it this time. He hit it to long off a little left of the fielder and it was a SIX. Team A went bersek after that.
- A deserved tie in the end. Both teams pulled things when needed and tie was the most appropriate result

2nd match: Team A was given to chase only 66 in 12 overs and they did that quite convincingly in 4.2 overs
Highlights off the match
- A total different gameplay altogether by team B. It stared with a wicket of Buland. A superb one handed catch at the deep mid wicket boundary by Tausif started a allround performance of team A. Another wicket-bowling out Mehran ended a fantastic first over at start of the match. Imtiaz ended with 2 wickets in his first over
- Imtiaz, Afaque and Tanzeel bowled superbly to end team B innings for a meagre 65 runs
- Vicky and Iqbal were in a destructive mode. They scored 50 runs in only 3 overs
- Mehran's alter ego came to play as he got hit for 26 runs in the only over he bowled
- Since the game was beyond team B's reach, Buland gave the ball to Faisal to have a fun bowl for the first time in his career. And he got the wicket of Afaque as well

Team B: Reyaz(c), Vicky, Tausif, Rehan, Mehran, Gaj & Sumit

1st match: Team B batted first and set the target of 90 runs in 12 overs. Team A failed to achieve that and the lost the match by 16 runs

Highlights from the match
 - Vicky started of very well ably supported by Rehan
 - Team A was cruising along until quick wickets of Vicky, Sumit and Rehan off the bowling of Tanzeel pegged them back
 - Team B was in a very difficult position at one stage until Mehran - the last wicket spared them the embarrassment by scoring some 20 odd runs in the last 2 overs
 - Team A started off very cautiously, Tanzeel and Faisal scored some 23 runs in the first 4 overs until Tanzeel got injured and that put the brakes on their scoring rates
 - Team A required some 50 runs in the last 5 overs. Iqbal was still on the crease but even he couldn't take them across the line
 - Rehan did some great work with the ball toward the fag end of the inning, not letting Iqbal score and hence granting a priceless victory by 16 runs

2nd match: This time Team A was given a target of 94 runs in 10 overs. Team A started off well but again fell short by 31 runs

Highlights from the match
 -  Vicky fell early but that didn't stop Team B to score a big score. Tausif, Reyaz, Sumit and Gaj did a fantastic job with the bat
 - Tanzeel and Maaz were the pick among the bowlers, they tried applying brakes but little did they know that the runs from Rehan's blade will cost them the match
 - Rehan too did well towards the end, scoring some brisk runs and taking his team to a mammoth 93 runs in 10 overs
 - Iqbal provided a superb start to his team. They were 33 for no loss in 3 overs. His wicket brought the dominoes effect as wickets started to fell in heap
 - Team A never could never come back from that shock and hence 93 seemed too far to them and lost the match by 31 runs at the end

March 8, 2015

Well well well!!!! 2 consecutive days of cricket. The second day i.e. today witnessed an awesome and unique match that never happened before in the history of Rockerzzz. We decided to play a 2 innings match with 10 overs in each inning. The lead in the first innings will be carried forward to the second inning and the target will be set accordingly. It seemed interesting at the start and it lived up to the expectation:

Team A: Tanzeel(c), Mehran, Sumit, Arunesh, Buland and Ameen
Team B: Vicky(c), Afaque, Rehan, Gaj, Suraj and Faisal

Team A batted first

Team A 1st inning: 103 runs in 10 overs
 - Sumit and Tanzeel had a very good and healthy opening partnership
 - Both the batsman took on the bowlers, scoring briskly and taking their team to a wonderful position
 - After the end of 7th over, with the score on 69 runs without loss Tanzeel decided to retire and other batsman took their charge
 - Sumit along with Mehran finished off wonderfully with 103 runs on the board

Team B 1st inning: 96 runs in 10 overs. Team A lead by 7 runs after the first innings
 - Vicky as usual was at his best. He along with Faisal was almost taking the match away from Team A
 - Faisal was scratchy, not contributing much to his account but giving good partnership to Vicky perished in the 6th over
 - Until 6th over neither of Team A's bowler was making any impact
 - Tanzeel decided to bowl himself. A dip and low ball ended Faisal's inning with Team A at the healthy score of 60 runs in the 6th over
 - Tanzeel's next ball was a run and Vicky was on strike. A wonderful slow ball on the off stump ended Vicky's innings as well. Team A was back into the match
 - Mehran was thrown the ball for the next over. His superb over brought 3 wickets for the team. From 60 for no loss, Team B was down to 68/5
 - Few hits from Suraj towards the end gave the lead of 7 runs to Team A

Team A 2nd inning: 97 runs in 10 overs. Target was set 105 runs in 10 overs for Team B
 - Sumit again played a role of an anchor, smashing bowlers from Team B out of the park at regular intervals
 - Tanzeel joined him after the fall of first wicket of Ameen and he too continued from where he left of in the 1st inning
 - Huge partnership between him and Sumit set the target of 105 runs in 10 overs. A huge ask for Team B considering a weak batting line up

Team B 2nd inning:  85 runs all out in the 9th over
 - Arunesh and Mehran bowled a superb opening spell. They gave only 3 runs in 2 overs while 23 after the end of 4 overs
 - Wickets were falling but Vicky tried to keep Team B in the hunt. But it was getting difficult for him as well
 - Buland took an outstanding catch running from deep point to the cover region to see the back of Vicky off Tanzeel's bowling and also brilliantly run out Rehan with a throw from cover. He hence redeemed himself from the sitter he dropped early on
 - Once Vicky got out Gaj took charge. But his blinder was not enough and Team B fell short of 19 runs and got again in this inning in the 9th over

Rockerzzz: Tanzeel(c), Vicky, Faisal, Mehran, Rehan, Imtiaz, Buland, Suraj, Sumit, Gaj amd Imtiaz

After a long time a Saturday was missing most of it's Rockerzzzz players. Only 11 players turned up which was a blessing in disguise. Hence it was decided that we play with some team already present at the ground. Fortunately we got one

The only match: we won the toss and elected to bat first. We scored 95 in 10 overs and defended it quite comfortably by 21 runs

Highlights
- Vicky scored around 35 runs. Iqbal scored 24 runs. Sumit also scored some quick runs towards the end of innings
- We started off very well with the ball. Imtiaz was at his best as usual. Mehran supported him at the opening spells. Gaj and Suraj also bowled decently at the end
- There was an instance in the match when 3 out of 3 catches was dropped off Suraj's 3 consecutive balls. Vicky, Rehan and Imtiaz was the culprit. But the funny thing was that the 4th ball also went for the catch and finally Faisal took it

It was a short day but happy day for Rockerzzzz

February 28, 2015

Team A: Buland (c), Gaj, Faisal, Sumit, mehran, Ameen, Azad, Iqbal
Team B: Suraj (c), Vicky, Tanzeel, Imtiaz, Rehan, Ratish, Fauzan, Adnan

1st match: Team A scored 87 runs which Team B failed to achieve and fell short by some 20 odd runs when they were all out

Highlights:
 - Imtiaz, Yuvi and others did well to not give enough runs. They picked up wickets, fielded well and didn't give enough room for Team A batsman
 - It looked like a bowlers pitch as team A also did well in their inning. Mehran bowled exceptionally well and he along with other bowlers such as Gaj (who too was brilliant with the ball) haltedTeam B chase

2nd match: Team A set the target of 114 runs. This time Team B achieved it in the 11th over

Highights
 - Imtiaz started off well with the ball but Team B lost the plot in the middle overs
 - Sumit and Gaj with their big shots in the middle took Team A to very good position
 - Team A would have scored more than 113 had it not been for Tanzeel and Yuvi towards the end of inning. They bowled well the last couple of overs and gave only 6 runs in 2 overs
 - Team B started off well, Vicky along with Fauzan and Adnan scored briskly and they were comfortable at 58/2 in 5 overs
 - Quick wickets of Vicky and Tanzeel brought Team A back into the match
 - Controversial six off Yuvi at the long off boundary was the point of discussion later in the day. Gaj was confident of a clean catch at the boundary but Suraj the umpire wanted nothing but a six
 - Later that turned to be a turning point as yuvi meated out few more blows and hence took Team B home with his match winning performance

February 21, 2015

Few of the interesting things to happen:

 - match between Batsman vs Bowler
 - powerplay introduced - 1st 3 overs, only 3 players to be on the boundary
 - only 2 bowlers to bowl maximum of 3 overs, others can bowl 2 overs

Team Batsman: Reyaz (c). Vicky, Faisal, Vishal, Tausif, Sumit, Iqbal, Ameen & Hesham
Team Bowler: Tanzeel(c), Imtiaz, Afaque, Gaj, Yuvraj, Suraj, Buland & Rehan

1st match: Team Batsman could only score 80 runs in 12 overs. Bowlers chased it in the 11th over

Highlights of the match:

 - powerplay was a bane to the team 'Batsman'. They lost wickets to Imtiaz and Afaque in the first 3overs. They were 11/3 in 3 overs
 - Bowlers were in full control until the 8 overs of the first inning when the Batsman team were around 45 and only 2 wickets left. Reyaz took control of the match, Sumit assisted him and they scored 80 runs in their allotted 12 overs
 - Bolwer team started of very well, scoring 30 runs in the first 3 overs. Tanzeel and Rehan build a good platform for Bowlers to take control in the later half of the inning. There was moment in the inning when Yuvraj gave a simple chance to Vicky but he couldn't hold on to it. It could have turned the match different way.
 - It was a great moment for the Bowling team as they won the match comprehensively

2nd match: 'Batsman' team were determined this time. They scored 121 in 12 overs. Bowlers could only score 81 before they got all out

Highlights of the match:

 - Vicky was back in form Farming the strike for most part of the match, he scored briskly and effortlessly. Vishal assisted him at the top order.
 - It was always going to be difficult chance for a team to chase target over 100, A team full of bowlers its going to be all the more difficult.
 - Although they started of well (Suraj being the chief hitter) they couldn't capitalize on the start and faltered in their chase and could complete 81 before their allotted 12 overs could end
 - The result showed a victory margin of 40 runs but the team of bowler tried and were in the game throughout
 - Ameen were the strike bowler, taking 3 important wickets for 'batsman' team
 - 3 fantastic one-handed catches by Reyaz, Suraj and Tanzeel created amazement among the viewer
